Biography

Roger focuses his practice on intellectual property, patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition.

 

He develops national and worldwide intellectual property portfolios for both start-up and established companies, including establishing and formulating patent procurement strategies; obtaining domestic and foreign patents; handling complex prosecution procedures, such as reexaminations; and negotiating technology license and acquisition agreements.

 

His practice includes due diligence investigations, IP transactions and conducting freedom-to-operate, patentability, validity and non-infringement analyses. His practice also includes trade secret counseling and the development of trade secret protocols for the protection of critical information for clients on a global basis.

 

Roger has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications. These applications involve inventions in the chemical and biochemical/biotechnological arts. Representative technologies include plastics and injection molding, three-dimensional printing and additive manufacturing, medical and surgical devices. Orthotics and imaging technologies, nucleotide-based technologies, lubricants, waste processing, food processing equipment and material science.

 

He is also experienced in the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign applications for the registration of trademarks and in litigation of trademark and unfair competition claims.

 

He has prosecuted over 5000 patent and trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

He also has experience in litigation of patent infringement claims in the federal Courts and in the appeal of issues of patentability before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
