Estate Planning Documents and Advice

After evaluating our client’s property holdings, our attorneys prepare the estate planning documents, including the will, durable power of attorney, living will, and health care power of attorney. We also prepare any necessary trusts, depending on the complexity of the client’s situation. Our attorneys give advice regarding minimizing the hardships of the probate process by encouraging the use of transfer on death designations, survivorship deeds and beneficiary designations on insurance policies, investments and retirement.

Probate

Peterson Conners LLP‘s attorneys assist executors and administrators with the orderly settlement of a decedent’s estate. This process includes the opening of the probate estate, collecting and valuing the estate assets, determining and paying estate debts and expenses, accounting for estate taxes and other responsibilities of the executor. Our attorneys also prepare and file the various probate petitions, notices, inventories and other papers filed with the probate court. We also handle ancillary issues and adversarial cases like will contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims and other claims against executors and administrators.
