Biography

 

Chris is a partner who represents clients in business transactions, securities offerings and commercial real estate transactions. His practice is focused on the areas of corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings and commercial real estate sales, purchases and leasing transactions.

He regularly advises clients on the acquisition and disposition of businesses, including negotiating and preparing transaction documents and conducting due diligence of target companies. His areas of concentration also include business start-up, formation and capitalization issues. Chris advises start-up companies and emerging companies through all phases of development, including entity selection and formation, capitalization and asset acquisition and sale transactions. In the course of his practice, he also routinely negotiates and prepares general corporate and commercial agreements.

In addition, Chris represents issuers and investors in nearly all aspects of federal and state securities law compliance, including private placements, private equity investments and venture capital transactions. He has extensive experience with both federal and state securities regulation related to the private offering of securities and raising capital for new, emerging and seasoned companies. He places a particular emphasis on developing a thorough understanding of his clients' unique businesses, needs and goals. He believes that this emphasis enables him to provide high-quality, narrowly tailored and efficient securities representation that is responsive to the distinctive requirements and goals of his clients.

Throughout his career, Chris has assisted clients on matters ranging from small entrepreneurial start-ups to multimillion dollar transactions, including private placement offerings, commercial real estate acquisition, sale and leasing transactions, mergers, equity acquisitions, asset acquisitions and recapitalization transactions. He has also assisted public and private company clients located in Ohio by joining their in-house legal teams for extended periods. Prior to joining Peterson Conners, Chris was an attorney for several years in the corporate and finance group at Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP.

In 2017, Chris received a designation as an Ohio Super Lawyers "Rising Star." This distinction is awarded to less than 2.5 percent of Ohio attorneys under the age of 40.
