INFORMED PRAGMATIC COUNSEL

Traffic/OVI

Traffic and OVI (operating a vehicle impaired) convictions can have significant consequences on employment, higher education tuition assistance qualification and driver’s license eligibility. At Peterson Conners LLP, we advise clients on the impact of a potential conviction, strategies for defending against the charge and minimizing the consequences of a conviction.

Our services include:

Traffic

For less serious traffic offenses, the consequences may include fines and Bureau of Motor Vehicle suspensions. Our attorneys can assist with driving privileges. More serious traffic violations include reckless operation, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to comply with order, street racing, vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter, among others. Some of these crimes are classified as felonies and have severe penalties.

OVI

The most common convictions for OVI (operating a vehicle impaired) include operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher or refusing a breath test. Lesser common OVI offenses include physical possession of a vehicle while impaired, controlled substance OVI, prescription drug OVI and underage OVI, among others. Convictions for an OVI include fines, possible community service, probation and license suspension and may include jail time for second or more offenses. Our experienced attorneys inform clients regarding the legal consequences of the facts surrounding their case and their chances at a trial.
